Abstract
"City" piece on state representativeMichael Quint, D-Portland, who missed nearly a quarter of the roll-call votes in the most recent legislative session, giving him the distinction of being absent more than any other member of the city's House delegation. Quint, who was not present for 100 of 463 recorded votes between Dec. 2000 and June 2001, blamed his frequent absences on his new job delivering newspapers, which prevents him from getting to Augusta until late morning. An announced candidate for Sen. Anne Rand's seat in next year's election, Quint's attendance record is likely to be an issue in the Democratic primary, where he's expected to face a strong challenge from Ethan Strimling.
