David Geary opened the first microbrewery east of the Mississippi eight years ago, and despite the opening of 12 other breweries in Maine in the intervening years Geary's today is the state's largest. Portland has four microbreweries, with a fifth on the way, leading some observers to question whether the local market can handle the impending flow of suds. Details.
