Abstract
"City" piece on Leon Beaulieu, 59, of Portland, a convicted domestic abuser who admits he can't stop his rage, but is about to be released from the Cumberland County Jail where he has been serving a three-month sentence for violating probation from his 2001 conviction for abusing his mother. He has served prison time on several occasions for battering both his mother and an ex-girlfriend. Beaulieu says he went to Opportunity for Change and the Abuser Education Program, both in Portland, for a total of 59 weeks, and was kicked out of both programs. With an interview in question-and-answer format.
