Abstract

"City" piece on the Oxford Street Homeless Shelter. Some time in the near future, metal detectors will be installed at two entrances of the shelter; other doors that lead to the outside will have security alarms. Robert Duranleau, director of social services for the city, said the estimated cost of the project is about $50,000. Since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Duranleau said there's more of a need for detectors.
