Abstract
"City" piece on Borders, a bookstore at the Maine Mall in South Portland, which has decided to stop compensating bands for performing in their cafe space, due partly to money troubles, but also to reorganize. With special focus on the Half Moon Jug Band and its banjo player, Troy Bennett, of Portland, who said Borders used to pay the jug band $135 for a couple of hours of performance.
