Abstract

Inspectors at the Maine Yankee nuclear power plant in Wiscasset discovered a steam generator tube cracked beyond the 79 percent threshhold considered safe by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The tube was the second located in March that had cracked beyond the safety level. Tube inspections should be completed within a week, with the plant set for start up in April.
