Abstract
Hannaford Bros., owner of Shop 'n Save, is no longer asking customers if they prefer paper or plastic bags. The company will use plastic unless paper is specified, claiming that plastic bag recycling is better for the environment that paper bag recycling. The company says it has recycled 50 million plastic bags since its program started in 1990.
