Abstract

Everything about the Plainview Farm nursery that Steve and Donna Palmer run in North Yarmouth is calculated to help gardeners learn about plants. The Palmers created Plainview, with its well-stocked garden shop, multiple greenhouses, extensive sales area and display of shrubs and perennials in an elegant landscape setting with enticingly carpeted woodlands, all on seventeen acres of old farmland that had grown up to dense scrub. Steve Palmer also gives lectures and slide shows to garden clubs and community groups, and Donna Palmer edits the Plainview Farm catalog.
