Abstract
Feature article on moose-watching in Maine's Moosehead Lake region with Dan Legere, a Registered Maine Guide. According to Legere, who has lived in Greenville for 20 years, moose-watching is a fairly new phenomenon. He remembers when spotting a moose was an event. But the forest industry's practice of clear-cutting has boosted the moose population. Legere estimates that he now sees between 350 and 500 moose each season. With details of what it's like to spend a day moose-watching with Legere.
