Abstract

Article on Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt's attraction to the state of Maine. During his time in the White House, Roosevelt was a regular visitor of the Maine summer scene. Franklin developed a love of Maine growing up sailing in waters near the family's Campobello Island cottage. By 1903, Eleanor had also become captivated by Campobello and Maine. Details.
