Abstract

"North by East" piece on the Lewiston Maineiacs, a semiprofessional hockey team which moved to Lewiston this fall. The team represents the first United States franchise of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The twenty-three players are mostly teenagers who hope to move up to the National Hockey League farm system or into a college program.
