Abstract

"North by East" piece about opposums which have made their way to Maine and are showing up in increasing numbers. The marsupial has been moving steadily moving north from its traditional territory in the southwestern United States for most of this century and made its first appearance in extreme southern Maine in the early 1970s. The animal has been sighted as far north as Fryeburg.
