Abstract

"North by East" piece on Craig MacDonald of Bangor, who posted "Killdeer Chicks Nesting" signs in the Bomarc Industrial Park where he has a business, to save the chicks from being killed by cars. He says the signs seem to have slowed drivers down, and some drivers even stop to look for these early harbingers of spring.
