Abstract

"North by East" piece on a proposal to add ferry service between Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor, five miles across Frenchman's Bay. The Hancock County Planning Commission and other interested groups, including Acadia National Park, are studying the plan as a way to reduce traffic on crowded Mount Desert Island.
