Abstract

"North by East" piece reporting that in September Grand Isle in the St. John Valley became the first town in Maine to put up bilingual street signs. The new signs were the brain child of Daniel Dionne, the fire chief, who incorporated the double signage into his ongoing project to identify and name all the town's streets and roads before implementing a 911-emergency system.
