Abstract
Brief description of Little Deer Isle, a small summer island just north of bustling Deer Isle in East Penobscot Bay. The island was formally connected to Deer Isle in 1927, when a causeway was built. The island has managed to maintain its own identity due to the fact that the bridge and its traffic occupy only one small corner, and much of the rest of the island is covered by dense pine forest.
