Abstract
"Along the Waterfront" piece on the Artisans College, formerly the Rockport Apprenticeshop, where eight students quit last May, protesting that the boatbuilding segment of the curriculum had been switched from traditional techniques to modern materials and designs. The college, which announced plans in June to move to a new campus in Thomaston, plans to reopen this month at its old quarters on Rockport Harbor. President Steve Barnes says he hopes the school will be able to move to its new location this winter.
