    Abstract

    "North by East" reporting that Norm Dodge, the chief ranger at Bar Harbor's Acadia National Park, has reported that the permit applications for photo and film projects in the park have doubled this year. Dodge attributes the increase to aggressive marketing by the Maine Film Commission and increased awareness among commercial photographers and film copies of the park's photogenic nature. By late summer Dodge had approved fourteen permits, from car commercials on the Loop Road to a "Harper's Bazaar" fashion shoot featuring supermodel Kate Moss at Schoodic Point.
