Abstract

"Made In Maine" piece about Kent Garland, of Topsham, and his business, Fine Feathered Homes and Feeders. Garland, who still has two other jobs and five children to keep him busy, started building birdhouses the home of his basement in 1991. He sells hundreds of feeders and houses each year, and his work has attracted attention from several large companies. So far, he has resisted to grow beyond the confines of his own workship,but he hopes, eventually, to turn Fine Feathered Homes and Feeders into a full-time occupation.
