    Abstract

"North by East" about Ed Flanagan, president of Jasper Wyman and Son, the state's largest blueberry processor, who is putting blueberries on store shelves in glass jars in an attempt to boost sales. Flanagan wants customers to realize that blueberries aren't just for pies, but can be eaten alone, or as a topping on pancakes, ice cream, or other foods. Flanagan sees the jarred berries as the answer to the decline in sale of canned berries and to the large blueberry crops that have inundated processors in recent years.
