Abstract

Article about the Maine Sea Coast Mission and Ted Hoskins, 63, its new minister. The Maine Sea Coast Mission, a ninety-year-old organization, boosts the sense of community on the islands and serves the spiritual needs of Maine's islanders. With a brief history of the Sea Coast Mission and a profile of Rev. Ted Hoskins, who was a fixture for a half-century on Isle Au Haut. Hoskins is an ordained Congregational minister, who became the Isle Au Haut's summer preacher more than twenty-five years ago. Until he was selected for his current post, he returned every winter to Connecticut, where he was minister in a wealthy suburb of New York City.
