Abstract
"The Talk of Maine" piece on the recent move of F. O. Bailey from Portland to Falmouth, by owners Joy and Jack Piscopo. As a young and fairly inexperienced couple, they bought the venerable antiques store in 1977 and turned it into one of the premier auction houses in Maine. Joy Piscopo credits Chris Huntington, a veteran antique dealer and painter now based in Nova Scotia, with mentoring her. Jack Piscopo says that the days of big house sales are mostly past. At the new shop they will both downsize and "upsize" their business and concentrate on high-end antiques and art. The store's history in Portland dates back to 1819.
