Abstract
"North by East" piece on the vintage wooden carousel at Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach. After Playland was bought by a new owner, the leased carousel reverted to an educational foundation set up by Barbro Osher, the aunt of Playland's former owner, Sam Osher. Although the Osher family has said they would like to see the carousel remain intact, selling the horses individually could bring as much as $600,000 at auction. A new carousel made of fiberglass will feature zoo animals.
