Abstract

The unnamed third bridge across the Kennebec River in Augusta opened in November and is the key section of a three-mile bypass linking Interstate 95 and Route 3 east of Augusta. The bridge eliminates the need to navigate Augusta's two nightmarish rotaries to get from the Maine Turnpike to Down East Maine, as well as lessening congestion in the city.
