Abstract

"North by East" piece on the closure of the venerable Boom Chain restaurant in Greenville, whose owner, Earl Richardson, 78, is retiring. He opened the restaurant in 1972, when it comprised half of the local options for eating out. Now Greenville has 15 or more restaurants.
