Abstract
"The Talk of Maine" piece on outdoors journalist Roberta Scruggs' controversial Web site, Scruggsreport.com, which provides insider information on outdoor Maine and critical appraisals of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Maine Warden Service. The site was an outlet for her exhaustive but unpublished report on a poaching investigation in Soldiertown township. Chris Busby, former editor of the now-defunct Portland-based "Casco Bay Weekly," publishes thebollard.com online. Reporter Terrilyn Simpson's self-published report of the Logan Marr child-abuse case in 2002 reached a national audience on the Web. She is now setting up her own Web site.
