Abstract
Bowdoin College in Brunswick has transformed the former Curtis Pool and the Museum of Art, both designed by McKim, Mead, and White, into the Studzinski Recital Hall with its Kanbar Auditorium and an expanded art museum. Counteracting the college's sometime reputation for self-containment, both buildings represent a conscious effort to engage the community and be public resources. With details on the architecture and construction of the new spaces.
