Abstract
Browne Trading in Portland, under Rod Mitchell of Peaks Island, has become a seafood empire since he and his wife, Cynde, bought it in 1990. He credits a boyhood spend fishing off Cundys Harbor with instilling in him a love for seafood, and he now specializes in selling the best seafood to be found in the world. From a start in two small rooms, Browne Trading now takes up an entire building. Mitchell's insistence on quality has earned him the trust of well-known chefs across the country, and he has become one of the most important caviar wholesalers in America.
