Abstract
The seaside Moose Point State Park in Searsport is located on busy Route 1, but is often bypassed by tourists heading to Acadia. One of the state's least known parks, it is sited on Penobscot Bay and has sweeping lawns, a gazebo and pavilion, and views of islands and passing boats, as well as two miles of trails. With details on the park's previous incarnation as a dairy farm and how moose are never seen there, despite its name.
