Abstract
Located on the tip of Blue Hill's peninsula, Brooklin has 850 residents, over 100 of whom work building boats. The town has 30 miles of shoreline, nine boatbuilding facilities, and hosts "Woodenboat" magazine. Every year graduating eighth-graders build a boat together. With details on former residents, author E.B. White and "Washington Post" editor, James Russell Wiggins, whose descendants live and work in Brooklin, and on the genesis of "Wooden boat" magazine.
