Abstract

An in-depth piece about the Westbrook-born swimmer, Pat Gallant-Charette. Although she swam as a child, she didn't take up the sport again until she was in her 40s. She is participating in the Oceans 7, a marathon swimming challenge consisting of seven channel swims. As an older athlete (and grandparent), she has broken records and inspired with her grit and tenacity. With an underwater portrait of Gallant-Charette by Gabe Souza.
