Abstract
In-depth piece on Estcourt Station, a village of five houses at the northernmost tip of Maine.The international border between the U.S. and Canada runs through eight properties. The article looks at the myths and history behind the zigzagging boundary line, which was once crossed freely by residents of both sides, but after the 9/11 attacks, security was tightened.
