Abstract

Short piece that examines how several Mainers -- Jan Hartmann, a former editor at Princeton Architectural Press, Abby Gilchrist, owner of Belfast's Fiddlehead Artisan Supply store, and Amelia Poole of Brooksville's Ecouture Textiles -- came to write a book about modern fabric design. The book, Modern Fabric: Twenty-Five Designers on their Inspiration and Craft, was published in November by Princeton Architectural Press.
