Synopsis of the process that led to the Bangor Daily News becoming the first U.S. Newspaper to declare Joe Biden the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election. Describes the unique relationship between the Bangor Daily News and Decision Desk HQ, an election-data firm, and how that relationship led to the BDN becoming the first paper to accept and publish the firm's projection. Discusses reactions to the prediction - which stood alone for 27 hours - in Maine and beyond.
