Abstract

Interview with Chris Mallett, chief administrative officer at the Roux Institute, a tech-focused graduate-studies and research center located in the Old Port. Details how the institute was launched by a donation to Northeastern University by David and Barbara Roux and is supported by funds from the Harold Alfond Foundation. Mallett discusses the institute's mission of bringing technology-based study and jobs to Maine in the hopes of boosting the state's ability to attract and keep businesses and workers. Mallett also answers questions about the institute's goals for growth, plans to create symbiotic relationships with Maine's colleges and universities, and the possibility of creating a Boston-Portland tech corridor.
