Abstract
Jawad Al Fatlawi describes to Monique Brouillette how he learned to both play and make ouds for musicians in Iraq, Jordan, and Turkey while living in Baghdad. After arriving in Maine in 2016, Al Fatwali created the Goldeneye Oud, which resembles a guitar, in order to make the instrument feel more accessible to people in the US.
