Abstract

Briefly tells the story of Big Jim, a.k.a. the Stinson man, a 40-foot-tall painted metal cutout in the form of a fisherman, which has graced Prospect Harbor since the 1980s. Describes Jim's career, from a promoter for the Maine Sardine Council perched alongside I-95, to the towering face of the Stinson sardine cannery, to his newest proposed incarnation, promoting an American Aquafarms salmon farm.
