Abstract
By the 1880s, the puffin had disappeared from all but one of Maine's islands. Almost a century later ornithologist Stephen Kress founded the Puffin Project to reintroduce Newfoundland puffins onto Eastern Egg Rock, off Rockland. Its techniques have been extremely successful. Details.
