Abstract
"Focus on Greater Portland" piece on Old Port retailers, some of whom are bucking the prevailing trends by locating on Exchange St. above Middle Street, where the rents are about half what they are on lower Exchange St. Celia St. Onge opened Cedilia Bedilia in the micro-district, which is becoming a cluster of high-end home goods and fashion stores. She plans to cater to local people and workers, who are more likely to return and to buy larger items. She and other business owners think the city might do more to market the upper Exchange St. area beyond the main shopping corridor. With a list of Old Port spaces currently available for lease or sublease.
