Abstract
Article on the four-year extension of the Boston Red Sox' player development contract with the Portland Sea Dogs. Last season, the Sea Dogs' first as a Red Sox double-A affiliate, was among the most successful in its history. Dan Burke, owner of the Sea Dogs, and Charlie Eshbach, general manager, agree that the affiliation is a positive and significant venture. The Sea Dogs' advertising and sponsorship business has always been strong, but demand has increased since the Red Sox affiliation, with a 40-company waiting list for the outfield wall advertisements. With a related article on the Bangor Lumberjacks, a year-old minor league baseball team.
