    Abstract

    "Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece briefly reporting that Bath Iron Works (BIW) has recently won an $8.9 million contract from the Department of Defense for the preliminary design of a new generation of Navy combat ships. BIW beat out five other yards vying to work on the new Littoral Combat Ship.
