    Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece reporting that the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad, a 33-mile line, has been purchased by Rail Star Corp., owned principally by Ron Trottier, of Cape Vincent, New York, for an undisclosed amount. According to the "Bangor Daily News," Trottier plans to upgrade the line's Belfast terminus, and hopes to be operating "rail and sail" excursions from the railroad's pier there next summer. Trottier plans to make short trips from Belfast, where he can capitalize on what he says is the city's "untapped potential" for tourism. He is considering longer runs for dinner trips and foliage outings.
