Abstract

Letter from Robert Fisk of the Portland Athletic Club calling on Freeport and Yarmouth not to support a new $5 million YMCA. Fisk argues that the YMCA's disingenuous non-profit status gives it a 32% cost advantage over existing health clubs; and that the fact that it raises 80% of its revenues from fees distinguishes the YMCA from legitimate non-profits like the Boys and Girls Club.
