Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece reporting on Louis Philippe, 49, who runs Reindeer Group, a nonprofit arts group in Portland. Acting as his own attorney, he filed a lawsuit against Internet giant AOL, which he says violated Maine's anti-spam law. He first billed AOL for the time he spent dealing with spam and then sued the company for nonpayment. A judge in Portland's small claims court ruled that the case belongs in Virginia, where AOL is headquartered.
