Abstract

"Focus on Health Care" piece, with an interview with Dale Shaw, treasurer of H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, and Dee Hopper, vice president of patient care, both who are acting as interim presidents. Goodall lost its bid to build a cancer care center in southern Maine with two partners, and after a bitter fight, announced it was teaming with former rivals Maine Medical Center and Southern Maine Medical Center, which were awarded the contract. Although the verdict is still being appealed, particularly by the two other partners, Shaw and Hopper discuss the benefits of joining forces with Maine Med, particularly since the center will be located in the Sanford area and serve Goodall's patient base.
