Abstract

"Compass Points" piece reporting that the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, with its "keep-you-poor-for-a-long-time" penalties, combined with high health care costs, increase the risks of entrepreneurship. The law could have a chilling effect in Maine, where small business employs more people than big business. It will be much harder for failed entrepreneurs to learn from their mistakes and start over again.
