Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece reporting that action on all but a few of the bills packaged as the Small Business Initiative by Rep. John Richardson, D-Brunswick, has been deferred until next year. Richardson said that a few got passed because they had no financial impact. The bills that were approved are aimed at improving the business-assistance line operated by the Department of Economic and Community Development, improving the regulatory process for small businesses and increasing outreach efforts to small businesses that might want to contract with the state.
