Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece on Curt Jacey, 33, general manager of the new Bangor Lumberjacks, who says a minor-league baseball team should be treated as an entertainment company rather than a sports team. The team, owned by Bangor businessman Charles "Chip" Hutchins, is expected to be profitable from the get-go. Jacey says the league is unaffiliated with a major league team, which keeps its focus is on winning rather than on developing players.
