Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece reporting that the Museum of Glass and Ceramics recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, effectively ending its plans to open to the public in the former armory building in South Portland. Mired in outstanding debt, museum trustees also attributed the action to the three-year lawsuit with Dorothy-Lee Jones, the founder of the museum, over ownership of a portion of the collection. A bankruptcy court meeting on the issue is scheduled for September 15.
