Abstract

"Focus on Human Resources" piece containing an interview with Ernie Lebel, vice president of human resource services for Portland-based consulting firm Drake Inglesi Milardo. He says the trend of treating workers more as a commodity than as a resource is detrimental. He believes that human resource departments should have a say in their companies' corporate strategy, and that HR people need to move from an administrative functional role to a strategic business management role.
